Gender Reveal Party Games

Chocolate Bar or Dirty Diaper Game Gender Reveal Party game:

Clean diapers

Fun-sized candy bars, all a different variety

Melt each candy bar on a separate plate. Put one melted candy bar into each diaper, most people will use toy doll diapers for this game (hee hee now the dirty diaper).

Number each diaper. Have slips of paper pre-numbered and instruct guests to guess which candy bar is which (Snickers, 3 Musketeers, etc). They can smell and look, but no touching or tasting! Place filled-out papers in a small box. Have a designated person read through the guesses, whoever gets them all (or most) right wins!

This Baby Gender Reveal party games gets pretty funny.

The Secret Gender Reveal Party Cake game:

At the 20-week ultrasound, ask the ultrasound technician write down the gender of the baby and place it into a envelope and seal it. The envelope is  given to the person {friend, mother in-law, grandma,  baker or whoever} that will be the baker the cake for the gender reveal party.

The magical part is that this person will dye the inside of the cake blue or pink, depending on the sex of the baby.  Then at the gender reveal party, everyone finds out together gender of the baby when the cake is cut.

Different sides of the Fence:

As your lovely party guests arrive have them ask the to display their guess of your baby’s gender by wearing a pin that shows if they are on team boy or girl. This is also a great start to the theme as it can be the main theme for the party everything from drinks, to drink holders to tee-shirt to anything you would like you can make your own which always adds a special touch at Cafe Press or  Amazon has some truley wonderful ideas too Amazon.


 Ring/Needle test:

Thread a needle or a ring and hang it over the mother’s belly or wrist.  If the needle swings in a circle it is a girl. If the thread swings back and forth it is a boy.

Jellybean Jar:

Fill a jar with blue and pink jellybeans/jelly babies. Ask the guests to guess how many blue jellybeans/babies are in the jar and how many pink jellybeans/babies are in the jar. The two guests that guess the closest (one for the pink side and one for the blue side)will get a small prize around the $5 – $10 mark.


Old Wives Tales Gender Reveal Party game:
The list of Old Wives Tales I used was as follows:

1.           Can people tell you are pregnant from the back?  Or are you pregnant all over?

Just from back:  Boy

All over: Girl

2.          Which breast is bigger during pregnancy?

Left: Boy

Right: Girl

3.            Eating more or sick/nauseated?

Eating more: Boy

Sick: Girl

4.            Do you crave the heals of bread or the middle?

Heals: Boy

Middle: Girl

5.   Hands Chapped/Dry or Softer?

Chapped: Boy

Softer: Girl

6.    During the pregnancy, have you been clumsy or graceful?

Clumsy: Boy

Graceful: Girl

7.            During the pregnancy, have you been crabby or happy?

Crabby: girl

Happy: boy

8.            Carrying low or high?

Low: Boy

High: Girl

9.           Who was more aggressive at the time of conception?

Husband: Girl

Wife: Boy

10.              Is the heartbeat high or low:

11.              Which side do you lay on when resting:

12.       Pick up a single key.

Picks it up by the long narrow part: Girl

Picks it up by the round part: Boy

14.         Consider the Mother’s age at conception and the year or conception.

Both even or Both odd: Girl

13.            Show me your hands.

Shows them palms up: Girl

15.             Do you crave sweet foods or sour/salty foods?

Salty/Sour: Boy

What am I?:

“Bad Word Game”. For “What am I?”, write different baby items, such as diapers, bottles, pacifier, etc on index cards. As your guests arrive, pin or tape the card to their backs without them seeing it. They then have to ask other of your guests yes or no questions to figure out what they are. First 5 to figure it out gets a prize.


“Bad Word” game:

Choose a word, such as baby, or choose 2 words like boy and girl to be “bad words.” As your guests arrive, tell them of the bad word(s) and give them a pre-determined number of stickers, pieces of candy, pacifiers, etc. When someone says one of the bad words they must give whoever heard them say it a sticker, piece of candy or a pacifier. The person with the most at the end of the party wins.

Dress Up game:
Ask your guests to wear a pink shirt or a blue shirt to cast their votes. Then play a Boy against Girl game such as Battle of the Sexes.
